Jeff Hyung Rak Chung

President & CEO

For more than 25 years, Jeff Hyungrak Chung has held various roles in the energy industry leading refineries, petrochemical companies, nuclear and combined cycle power plants and, for the last decade, he has led the hydrogen business for Doosan Group.

Currently, he serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of HyAxiom, Inc., a U.S.-based stationary fuel cell manufacturer, formerly Doosan Fuel Cell America, Inc. (DFCA), President and Chief Executive Officer for HyAxiom’s sister company, Doosan Fuel Cell Corporation, in Korea, and, as CEO of H2 Innovation, an R&D Korea, wholly owned subsidiary of HyAxiom, Inc.

He began his career as a consultant for McKinsey & Co., served as Vice President at SK E&C where he was Head of Corporate Strategy & Planning and Head of the Procurement & Subcontracting Management Office and was named a partner at Deloitte Consulting becoming one of the founding members helping to rebuild the consulting business for Deloitte Korea.

Chung’s Doosan roots run deep with significant time spent with Doosan Enerbility – Korea, as Senior Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer, before heading to the U.S. to lead the 2014 acquisition of ClearEdge Power (formerly UTC Power) and establishing DFCA. As President and Chief Executive Officer of DFCA, he quickly transformed the company into a leading integrated hydrogen solution provider by securing 20 percent of the global stationary fuel cell market share in 2021 and a manufacturing capacity of 70 MW in the U.S. for stationary fuel cell production. In 2022, he renamed the company to HyAxiom, Inc.

He holds an A.B. degree in Economics from Harvard University and a M.A. degree in Economics from Brown University.

Sridhar Kanuri

Chief Technology Officer

As the Chief Technology Officer for HyAxiom, Sridhar Kanuri is responsible for managing Global Research & Engineering and Service & Installation. In this role, he leads new technology and product development, product cost reduction initiatives, intellectual property management, sustaining engineering, product installation and field service.

Under his leadership, the research and engineering team develops innovative materials, advanced manufacturing processes and achieves product cost efficiencies toward the goal of grid parity. To accelerate fuel cell development, his team collaborates with universities, governmental and non-governmental organizations on technology development, prototype demonstrations and funding. Prior to being named CTO, Kanuri was the Vice President of RD&E.

He began his career working on automotive PEM fuel cells. His product development experience includes transportation fuel cells, stationary fuel cells and electrolyzers. Before HyAxiom’s inception, Kanuri was the Director of Cell Stack and Fuel Processing Engineering and the Technology Manager for UTC Power.

Kanuri was elected to the Connecticut Academy of Science and Engineering in 2018 for his contributions to fuel cell technology. He has written a book chapter on fuel cells and holds more than 10 U.S. and 21 international patents. Appointed in 2022 by the Connecticut legislature to serve on the state’s Hydrogen Task Force, Kanuri and fellow members submitted a report on their findings and recommendations to the joint standing committee of the General Assembly in January 2023.

Kanuri holds a M.B.A. from Carnegie Mellon University and a M.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from Florida State University.

David Alonso

Chief Commercial Officer

Appointed Chief Commercial Officer for HyAxiom in 2023, David Alonso is a commercial executive with 25 years of experience in the energy industry leading world-class sales and commercial organizations that deliver solutions to customers while driving business growth and profitability.

Prior to joining HyAxiom, David was Senior Vice President, Commercial Lead, for Mitsubishi Power Americas. Previously, he served as Region Vice President, Power Systems Sales, for Siemens Energy along with various sales and commercial roles while at Siemens.

Alonso’s experience includes driving commercial and operational excellence across a wide range of energy products and markets including equipment and services for renewable, fossil, and nuclear generation; energy storage; digital solutions; transmission and distribution; and distributed generation to a customer base that includes utilities, independent power producers, developers, industrial, and EPC firms. His recent efforts to help grow the hydrogen economy and bring decarbonized solutions to customers are what led him to join the HyAxiom team.

He received his Bachelor of Science in Management Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology and his MBA from the University of Florida.

Doosoon Lee

Chief Strategy Officer

Doosoon Lee is the Chief Strategy Officer for HyAxiom and Chief Operating Officer and Chief Strategy Officer for Doosan Fuel Cell Co. He focuses on defining strategic priorities while evaluating market opportunities to optimize short- and long-term growth and collaborates with company stakeholders to execute these strategies.

For nearly three decades, he has been leading companies in South Korea including Hyundai Motor Company, A.T. Kearney Korea and the Monitor Group before joining Doosan Corp. in 2007.

Within five years, Lee was appointed Head of Global Marketing & Product Management for Doosan Infracore (Develon). In 2016, he was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Doosan Mobility Innovation where he served for seven years before continuing his career with Doosan Fuel Cell Co. and HyAxiom.

Lee holds a M.B.A. from Cornell University and M.S. and B.S. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Seoul National University.
